About Us
Yuzu Japanese Sushi Bar is a fast-paced, quality-driven restaurant committed to serving fresh, authentic Japanese cuisine while providing exceptional hospitality. We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and team-oriented Sushi Chef who takes pride in preparing high-quality sushi and maintaining the highest food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, specialty rolls, and other Japanese dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared consistently with excellent presentation.
- Maintain freshness and quality of all seafood and ingredients.
- Follow recipes, portioning, and food safety procedures.
- Keep the sushi station clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout each shift.
- Assist with daily prep work and inventory as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house team.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in compliance with health department regulations.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Cook preferred.
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and seafood handling.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Food Handler Card required (or ability to obtain one before starting).
